Ram for mac mini late 2012 model

Thanks John! 20% performance drop? That would be with any card you use? So the better the card still the better performance. Mac mini I7 Late 2012 16GB RAM + GTX 1050 TI What do you guys think? Worth it or no? Significant pump? HD4000 graphics can only go so far. I don't really want to dish out the money to buy a new Mac but I'd very much like to be able to upgrade the graphics power of my machine. There may be some gaming too but I don't know if the bottleneck would be significant enough that the upgrade wasn't worth it.

From the Apple menu ( ), choose Shut Down. To remove and install memory in your Mac mini (Late 2012), Mac mini (Mid 2011), or Mac mini (Mid 2010), use the following steps. I've seen this will create a bottle neck and slow speeds of EGPU's but I'm curious if you guys think its' still worth it to add an egpu for mostly video rendering. Mac mini (Late 2014) has memory that is integrated into the main logic board and can't be upgraded. I'm aware this model only has Thunderbolt 1.

I have a Mac Mini Late 2012 with an i7 2.3 and 16 gigs of ram and I upgraded the main drive to a solid state. I was absolutely over the moon when I saw Apple was going to support external gpu's on their Macs starting with High Sierra. Hey guys! I'm new to the forums and so glad to find a community with people that know their stuff on this topic.
